Lisbon will host the European Humanities Conference from May 5th to 7th, 2021, during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Conference is jointly organized by UNESCO, CIPSH – the International Council of Philosophy and Humanities, and the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

We hope this meeting will be an opportunity to affirm the contribution of the humanities to a more solidarity-based society. All scientific areas, working together, can better prepare the world to face the big challenges, of which pandemics are just one example.

With this Conference, we are preparing the European Humanities R&D Exhibition, a video exhibition. This initiative aims to promote the social perception of these knowledge fields' advances, social benefits, and influence. We understand Humanities in the broadest sense, including arts and all research carried out in articulation with other sciences.

Researchers and their teams are the producers of the videos. We welcome short videos (maximum of five minutes) about their activity and projects, with accessible and creative content. It would be excellent if we could map European Humanities research as exhaustively as possible. For this purpose, we kindly ask your contribution, if possible, by sending us a video about your interesting research activity.

The videos will be displayed during the Conference's days and, post-conference, the exhibition will remain available online. It is a way to give a more permanent international visibility to the Humanities work.

You may find more information, namely the technical requirements for each video, at www.europeanhumanities2021.ipt.pt/en/mostra_de_i_d_em_humanidades/
